With the start of preventative Covid-19 measures, our lunch buffet had turned into a buffet served by order.

Some items came as a double serving, while others were just a single serving (which was strange...)

For example, ticking the sashimi would only give you one piece, but ticking the soup would give you two bowls.

 

Starting with pumpkin soup as a warm up - tasted pretty bad... not to toot my own horn but mine tastes much better aha...

 

The sushi platter - enough for a taste, but not so much that you can't try anything else.

Personally not a fan of shellfish, but mother had a little more than a dozen of oysters 🙊

 

There weren't too many salad choices, so I had to improvise and combined the vegetable choices with the sashimi to make my own!

 

I have to admit, the main drawing factor for the buffet was the 7 flavours of Haagandaaz ice-cream...

I had two scoops: cookies and cream, and red bean mocchi!

The mocchi was a bit strange since there were literal chunks of mocchi, but I would definitely have it again.

While it was a shame the buffet changed to a 'serve by order' style, we couldn't really complain with the current circumstances.

I'm not sure if it's because it was the first day they had just introduced the new system, but there were definitely less choices/variety to choose from than advertised on their website. Maybe they just left out a few things from the menu? Not too sure...

 

We were also interested in trying out their Macau-style afternoon tea buffet, but unfortunately they only host those on the weekend and we were a bit more concerned about the ongoing protests at the time.

 

So we've pencilled it in for our end of year Hong Kong trip (if circumstances permit), so fingers crossed they still have it when we go back.
